Locus festival has always distinguished itself with a perfect balance between quality and popularity of the proposals. It started from a local dimension in 2005, in the small and cozy historic center of circular Locorotondo, but it growed soon to an international level, with an evident global inspiration developed with love and dedication throughout all these years. Everything in Locus, from the name, the logo, the poster art and the local context is “glocal”; in the enhancement of the site is open to the whole artistic, tourism awareness, overcoming geographical boundaries, personal, economic, stylistic.

A solid fan-base of loyal users, knows well that on Locus Festival there is always something interesting to discover. Often, in these ten years, Locus Festival have programmed artists before they reached global popularity (Aloe Blacc, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Luca Sapio, Raphael Gualazzi, Robert Glasper, Laura Mvula, Jacob Collier) as well as many italian pop artists qualitatively worthy of Locus (Franco Battiato, Calcutta, Mahmood, Sergio Cammariere, Nina Zilli, Mannarino …). Young stars such as FKJ, Kings Of Convenience, Snarky Puppy, Kamasi Washington, Esperanza Spalding, José James and Seun Kuti but also old lions like Gil Scott-Heron, Enrico Rava, Mulatu Astatke, Lee Fields … and so many other greats like Ms Lauryn Hill, David Byrne, Paolo Fresu, Vinicio Capossela, Cody Chesnutt, Stefano Bollani, Gregory Porter, Sly & Robbie, Dj Premier … just to name a few. There have been also djs like Rob Garza from Four Tet, Theo Parrish, Thievery Corporation, Nicola Conte, Gilles Peterson, and intriguing vanguard proposals as Colin Stetson, Mammal Hands, Nils Frahm, Floating Points, Thundercat, and The Bad Plus.
