DEVENDRA BANHART, born in 1981, is a multifaceted artist born in the United States but raised in Venezuela. The encounter with these two cultures stimulates and influences the passion for music and art, which he has cultivated since childhood.
His original psychedelic folk ballads , sung with surreal lyrics and arranged with the guitar and his unique tone, have been defined by Pitchfork as “a mix of Tim Buckley’s beat, Marc Bolan’s voiceprint and Tiny Tim’s vibrato ”.
DEVENDRA BANHART’s talent’s not limited to music. In fact, his particular and enigmatic drawings are exhibited in galleries all around the world.
Locus festival previews its seventeenth edition, which will take place from 31 July to 15 August 2021 in Locorotondo, with other sensational artists to be announced in the upcoming months, and with some of the events that were postponed last summer.
